Weary from a thirteen-hour flight, they climbed onto the waiting bus to check in at the hotel. Then on to the first gastronomic treat – gelato, just around the corner from the hotel they happily found a wondrous gelato shop offering fifty flavor combinations of gelato, served in cups, on cones, even a triple scoop in a brioche. Reinvigorated by the cold, sweet treat the students moved on to discover their first antiquity – Piazza Popolo. Just a few blocks from the hotel, the Piazza Popolo lies at the foot of the stairway to the Borgia property, and a breath-taking view of Rome at sunset. After taking advantage of the photographic opportunities, they walked back to the hotel and their first dinner in Rome and off to a good night’s sleep.
