In the spring of 2014, Godin (pronounced “Good-in”) helped lead the Monarchs to their first CIF-SS championship in boys’ track and field, winning the 100m with a wind-aided time of 10.34 and the 200m at 20.90. He continued his postseason success by running a 10.55 to become the CIF Masters champion in the 100m and culminated his senior year by racing Mater Dei to the CIF-State championship, again the school’s first such crown in the sport, as he became the 100m and the 200m champion with times of 10.31 and 20.87, respectively. His 10.31 time in the 100m fell just shy of the 10.30 all-time California state record. Earlier in the season, Godin was the 100m champion at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational after running a 10.36, which equaled the fastest time at the event as well as serving as the best mark ever recorded in Orange County history.
At the conclusion of his high school career, Godin was honored as the 2014 Orange County Register Track Athlete of the Year and named to the USA Today All-American Second Team.
