Saturday, March 23 – The MDHS Model United Nations team is off to its annual international conference! This year, MUN delegates have the privilege of traveling to Dublin, Ireland to participate in the conference hosted by Saint Andrew’s College. More updates to come throughout the week!
Monday, March 25– After a full day of travel and getting settled at our hotel we ventured out into the very cold Dublin air for some sightseeing and to check-in at the Model United Nations Conference. We went to Phoenix Park and saw The Papal Cross. The Papal Cross is a large white cross that was erected near the edge of Phoenix Park for the Papal visit of Pope John Paul II in September 1979.
Tuesday, March 26 – The students attended their first day of the Model United Nations Conference. We woke this morning to light snow showers that carried on throughout the day. After the conference we went to dinner and enjoyed our walk back to our hotel in the snow.
Wednesday, March 27 – We attended the second day of the MUN conference. Many of the students presented ideas and made motions to resolve their assigned topics. After a full day debating world issues, we took a break and enjoyed dinner together. The weather cleared up just long enough for us to get to dinner and back. After dinner, a few brave souls decided to get a glimpse of Dublin at night in the snow.
Thursday, March 28 – This is the last day of the MUN Conference. All of the students get ready to go out to the final MUN Conference event….the dance. Tomorrow we will start a new chapter in our story as we switch gears. We will head out to experience and learn about Ireland.
