With a Notice to Proceed e-mail arriving from the Diocese of Orange on Monday, September 10, 2012, demolition and pre-construction work has begun on the long awaited and anticipated Aquatics Building at Mater Dei High School.

As a result of the incredible vision and dedication of Director of Aquatics Chris Segesman and so many caring and generous Aquatics parents and benefactors, the dream of this new aquatics building on the MD campus now begins to become a reality.

Over the course of the next six months you will see a building rising out of the ground which will house two large team rooms (one for Boys Aquatics and one for Girls Aquatics participants), a study hall for our Aquatics student-athletes, a multi-media room for game planning and analysis, pool side restrooms for competitors and spectators, a snack bar area, outdoor showers for Aquatics competitors, increased storage space and a VIP viewing area and lounge area for Aquatics events and Baseball games at MDHS.

The finalized construction plans indicate substantial completion and move-in scheduled for mid to late February 2013. Stay tuned to the Mane Message Blog for continuous updates, pictures and videos on the progress of this exciting new construction project on the Mater Dei High School campus.
