A few weeks back, in my initial Mane Message blog, I outlined the Facts About Financial Aid at Mater Dei High School. Today, I am pleased to announce that MDHS Financial Aid for 2011-12 is now live on the Mater Dei website. If you are interested in applying for need-based Financial Aid for 2011-12 school year please log on to www.materdei.org/financialaid and follow the instructions on that page.
A few key highlights regarding Financial Aid for 2011-12 which I would like to bring to your attention are:
- Mater Dei High School does not offer academic or athletic scholarships. ALL Financial Aid at MDHS is need-based only.
- The deadline to submit applications to Private School Aid Service has been moved up to February 15, 2011. The reason the deadline is now so early is that we want to try and get the key financial information (Registration, Tuition and Financial Aid) out to our MD parents in a more timely manner for the 2011-12 school year. While February 15th is the initial deadline Private School Aid Service will continue to accept and review applications accepted after the 15th of February.
- Please understand that we cannot guarantee Financial Aid to families who submit their applications to PSAS after the deadline or who have missing documentation. PSAS will only process files which contain ALL required supporting documents (including your 2010 Federal Tax Return) and the required application fee.
It is the philosophy of Mater Dei High School to try and never deny enrollment to any Mater Dei student due to finances. However, as I explained in my initial Mane Message, all Mater Dei families must pay their fair share according to our well documented need-based Financial Aid guidelines.
Once again in 2011-12, Mater Dei High School will be providing our families over $2.5 million in Financial Aid, in order to help our MD families in need, afford the opportunity of a Mater Dei High School education for their young Monarchs. If you have any questions regarding the Financial Aid process please visit the Mater Dei website or contact the MDHS Business Office at 714-850-9504.
May God bless, guide and protect you and your families during this Advent and Christmas season. Thank you.
Patrick Murphy, President
